I’ve been jailbroken for almost a week now and I can say the the possibilities are limitless. Jailbreaking OS 3.0 is like turning the device into something completely different. All the fancy applications that Apple thinks we shouldn’t have are available. Custom modifications to backgrounds, sounds, and practically everything else about the phone are just a few clicks away.

On my iPhone I have been using a Twitter client called Twitterific. It is fairly popular amongst the available clients. As most of you probably know, we recently experienced a Twitpocalypse. On June 12th 2009 at 23:52 GMT, many Twitter clients ceased to function. This is due to how Twitter identifies their tweets. As you can imagine, Twitterific was one of them.

As you may already know, I’m a fan of Apple. I was first converted in the summer of 2003. I had a friend whom I worked with that swore by his little Powerbook. After looking over his shoulder for a few weeks and seeing how slick the experience was, I had to have one. A different contact at my workplace knew of someone that had a relative that worked for Apple, so I would be able to get a 15% discount if I ordered through him. I marched over to the appropriate office, told him what I wanted, and slapped down my hard earned cash. Back then, I spent about $2400 on this laptop.

Looks like in true fashion to the internet, the iPhone 3.0 OS has been leaked and is available for download. Apple has a disclaimer stating that the download is only for developers and that the version will lock your phone into “test mode”. This is untrue in the sense that when you upgrade the phone it does not prompt you for any developer account information. The fact of the matter is, this is the Gold Master version that will be released to the public in the middle of next week.

Yesterday marked the opening day of Apple’s WWDC 2009. One of the most highly anticipated keynote addresses also took place on opening day. Phil Schiller gave the world the inside scoop on what was to be expected in the coming months from Apple. There were some disappointments, some exciting developments, and some release dates. This text will have very little to do with that information, and more to do with what AT&T is doing with the information related to the iPhone announcements.
